Versace for H&M is back in Stores!

by Tina Johnson
....not in a good way

Versace for H&M has returned! Not because the items are in high demand, but because people are now returning their purchases. Let's take everyone back for a minute: it was the chilly morning of November 19, 2011 and a line of eager customers waited for up to 8 hours to catch the first glimpse of the Versace collection. After all the pushing and shoving, it would seem that the initial furry has faded drastically. Customers are now returning these same items in droves. Apparently the Versace for H&M clothing line didn’t sell as well on Ebay and Craigslist as the overzealous had anticipated. The result, it appears, is a massive return. So far, H&M’s in New York, Atlanta, and Ohio have suffered the greatest impact... is Philly next?

In an attempt to help their declining profits, H&M has sought out high end designers for collaboration projects. After this latest setback, one can’t help but wonder if designers Marni and Tom Ford will withdraw their proposed design collaborations. It will be interesting to see in weeks to come.
